Policies

Payment Policy

Fees are due in their entirety on the 1st of each month. Payments can be made by post dated cheque or in cash. There will be a $50 charge for any NSF cheque and two NSF cheques will result in cash only payments. Receipts are available monthly on request.

Late payments will be charged $10/day that fees are late.

In the event that a parent is late picking up their child a $10 late charge will be applied per child. If the child has not been picked up by 6:00 pm, and the parent is not able to be reached, the emergency contact person will be notified to pick up the child.

A $200 security deposit is due along with the first months fees at time of signing.

Withdrawals/Termination

Two weeks written notice is required for withdrawal of service. The day home will also provide two weeks written notice if it is determined that the child's care must be terminated for the betterment of the day home.

If two weeks written notice is provided the security deposit will be applied towards the last month of service. If the two weeks written notice is provided two weeks before the month ends and fees have been paid in full the security deposit will be returned in full.

The day home reserves the right to terminate a child's care immediately if deemed to be a dangerous situation for the other day home children.

If the child's care is terminated by the day home, then the remaining fees WILL NOT be returned nor will the security deposit.

Arrival and Departures

All arrival and departure times must be prearranged in writing in your contract. Parents MUST come-in when dropping off and picking up their child. Only authorized parents/guardians will be allowed to pick up children in my care. If an alternate person is picking up a child I must receive consent from the parent/guardian and the alternate person MUST provide photo I.D. No child will be given to an alternate person without photo I.D. NO EXCEPTIONS. If your child is going to be late or absent please let me know as soon as possible.

Vacations/Absenteeism

If you child is not in attendance due to family vacation or illness no reductions in fees will take place as your child's space will be kept for them. If your child does not require care for July or August you will still be expected to pay the full months fees to ensure their space will be available in September.

I do take 2 weeks of vacation during the course of the year. Parents will be given ample notice of these dates to make other arrangements.

Illness

In the event that your child becomes ill I ask that you keep your child at home. If your child has any of the following symptoms fever, vomiting, diarrhea, they must remain at home until they are symptom free for a period of no less than 24 hours.

If your child is on antibiotics. the MUST REMAIN HOME for 48 hours after the initial dose is given.

Parents will NOT bring their child(ren) to the day home if they present with any of the following:

Severe cold with runny nose

Fever (Over 38°c)

Diarrhea

Vomiting

Contagious viruses

Head lice

Yellow/Green mucous

Rashes

In the even that I feel your child is too sick to be in the day home the parents will be notified and if I am unable to reach the parents the emergency contact person will be notified to pick up the child.

In the event that a child has contracted a contagious or serious illness parents are required to inform the day home within 24 hours of the diagnosis. I require this to protect my family along with the families of the other children in the day home. Failure to comply to this will result in immediate termination of service. Also if you knowingly bring a contagious child into my care without my knowledge immediate termination will also be a result and fees will NOT be returned. Children are required to be symptom free, without the aid of medications, before returning to my care. I reserve the right to request a doctor's note depending on the disease/illness.

In the event that I am unable to provide care to your child due to illness or a family emergency I will provide a credit to your monthly rate. I will do my best to provide adequate notice so you can find alternative child care.

Visitation

I encourage all parents who want to come and stop by and visit during business hours.

Requirements of parents

If your child requires infant formula or diapers parents will be required to supply them. I also ask that you supply a change of clothes and label the tags with your child's name.

I do provide a wide variety of toys and activities so I ask that you leave all your toys at home to ensure they don't get broken or lost. However, if a child requires a certain item for comfort or a nap I encourage you to send them with your child. Cheeky Monkeys day home is not responsible for any lost or broken toys brought by the child.

Discipline

Every child will be dealt with at their own comprehension level. For infants and toddlers redirection will be used. Older toddlers and children will receive redirection, time out or natural consequences. Time out will be used to allow the child to calm down and will be the length of their age.

Meals

I will provide two healthy snacks and lunch for each child. The first snack will be served at 8:30 a.m., lunch at 11:30 a.m. and a final snack at 2 p.m.
